Confused fishermen spot alien-like ball floating in the middle of the ocean

Stunned fishermen spotted a gigantic alien-like ball floating off the coast of Western Australia before it was devoured by hungry sharks.

Mark Watkins and his father were fishing 25 nautical miles from Bunbury, south of Perth, on Wednesday when they came across the eerie sighting.

At first Mr Watkins, 36, thought it might be a boat, or even a stranded hot air balloon,The West Australian reported.

Upon closer inspection the pair discovered it was an inflated whale carcass.

'It's stomach was full of gas so it was all bloated up,' Mr Watkins told the publication.

'When we got closer we realised it had to be a dead whale because of the smell.'

Images taken by Mr Watkins show the dead whale at bursting point.

The whale's skin is so stretched it appears to be pink.

The seasoned fishermen said they had never seen anything like it.

Upon telling their friends the fishermen were asked if there were sharks feeding on the floating carcass.

Mr Watkins said there was a four-metre white pointer shark around his boat that day.
As the pair headed into shore they noticed chunks had been bitten out of the whale and it was no longer inflated.

Adorable stray dog can't stop cuddling his little friend after the pair ...

Adorable stray dog can't stop cuddling his little friend after the pair were rescued from the streets
You can call it puppy love, but these adorable pals just can't keep their paws off each other.

A pair of inseparable stray puppies have been melting hearts on social media after they were adopted by Buddhist nuns in China.

The larger pup can be seen holding his companion in his paws and keeping watch against a shrine inside the temple.

Another snap shows the dog striking a Zen pose alongside a Buddhist statue, apparently learning meditation from the best.

The doggy duo were taken in by the temple and given a new lease on life after being cast aside on the streets somewhere in China.

The images have set social media site Weibo alight with hundreds of commenters from people gushing over the canine companions.

'The dogs are in the temple now, so they must sit in mediation the same way the nuns do,' one commenter wrote.

Other users condemned the former owners who left the puppies for dead.

'How can people be so cruel? They shouldn't have bought the dogs in the first place if they weren't able to take good care of them!'

Boy, 4, looks like an old man and can't go to school 'because other children are scared of him'

A four-year-old boy resembles an 80-year-old pensioner due to an incredibly rare condition .

Bayezid Hossain, from outside Magura, southern Bangladesh, suffers a swollen face, hollow eyes, sagging skin, aching joints, difficulties passing urine and already has weak and broken teeth .

People in the community stay away from him and children are afraid to play with him despite him having above average intelligence ,

Bayezid is believed to suffer from progeria, which ages the body at eight times the normal rate .

Bayezid also has a form of cutis laxa, a rare connective tissue disorder in which the skin hangs loosely in folds,

His 18-year-old mother, Tripti Khatun, says she is amazed at how clever her son is, but it breaks her heart that his appearance is so unusual .

She said: ‘Bayezid only learned to walk aged three but he had a full set of teeth at three months old .

'His physical growth is completely abnormal but mentally, he has wonderful conversation, very aware and is very intuitive for his age .

He does not look like other children , He looks like an old man,  As a first time mother I can’t bear the pain of seeing my child like this,

When Bayezid was born at a government maternity hospital, in 2012, Tripti and her husband Lovelu Hossain, 22, were devastated as doctors had no idea how to treat him .

Tripti said: ‘I was terrified to see him when he was born ,He was just flesh and bones , He looked like an alien and it was heartbreaking for me .

'Doctors had no idea what to do, they said they had never seen such a baby. They warned us that there was nothing they could do.’

After they returned home the news of their abnormal child quickly spread around the village and neighbours lined up outside the family's home to see him.

But Tripti and her husband said they received no support from the local community.

People feared being close to Bayezid and often gossiped about the couple’s capabilities as parents, as Tripti and Lovelu are first cousins .

In rural parts of Bangladesh and southern Asia Muslim community  it is normal practice for cousins to marry, and the pair tied the knot at 13 years old .

As Bayezid grew older both his personality and body developed much faster than other children in his village.

Tripti added: ‘He’s very stubborn and knows what he wants, and he gets very impatient. But he’s playful, his mind is very sharp, and he’s full of conversation.’

As time has passed his neighbours have slowly gotten used to his presence and have now fondly tagged him the ‘old man’.

Bayezid doesn’t go to school but he loves to play with his ball, drawing on paper, and even breaking his toys so he can fix them back up again.

Lovelu said ‘We’ve been to hospitals, shrines, fakirs, shamans— whoever suggested whatever .

'Yet his situation remains the same and he’s probably getting even worse day by day,  My son isn’t a normal baby and it’s tragic for any parent to know that his child will not survive for long .

But I am proud of him. He is extremely intelligent compared to other children of his age. His relationship with his cousins is very friendly and funny .

'He understands his condition but he doesn’t like to talk about it. He just cries when he feels awkward .
Debashis Bishwas, a consultant from Magura Central Hospital, in Magura, met with Bayezid last month and told his parents he believes he is suffering from progeria and cutis laxa .

He said he fears he may only live for 15 years.
Lovelu understands there may not be a cure for his son’s conditions

'Like every other parent, we want our baby to live a long and healthy life but we feel only a miracle will save us now .

US man suffers 'vicious' crocodile attack at Costa Rica beach , loses hi...

An American surfer who had part of his right leg amputated after he was attacked by a large crocodile in Costa Rica was able to escape because his friend fought the reptile off with his hands.
Local media named the man as 59-year-old John Becker, and said he was attacked while crossing the river between Playa Grande and Tamarindo in Costa Rica about 7am on Friday.

Becker escaped the crocodile and make his way to shore, where he collapsed due to the large amount of blood he had lost, according to the Tico Times

In addition to the those suffered to his right leg that caused the amputation, he also had minor injuries to his face.
It reportedly took about 40 minutes for an ambulance to reach Becker and transfer him to hospital.

Tamarindo is a town in the country's north-west and is often visited by surfers and eco-tourists.
Dramatics photographs taken show the moment Becker dragged himself out of the water, before collapsing flat on his back on the sand.

People quickly rush over to him and offer their assistance, with one person putting Becker's surfboard behind his head to use as a pillow.
About a dozen more surfers and beachgoers then gather by his side to offer assistance, before one man appeared to tie a rope around the 59-year-old's right leg - slightly above his knee - potentially to stop further blood loss.
Two lifeguards and a police officer were also seen sprinting towards the American.
Seven men are then pictured carrying Becker on a stretcher off the beach and to an ambulance that was parked nearby.
Pat McNulty, who works as a consultant and is a certified trained lifeguard in the area, said the man was crossing a river with the friend when the crocodile struck.
'It was a vicious attack, and he was bitten several times in the leg as well as the head,' McNulty said.
'They were able to get him free, swim him to safety and then trained lifeguards responded ... and we administered first aid and called an ambulance.'
McNulty said he accompanied the victim, who remained lucid after the attack, to Liberia, the provincial capital, where he underwent surgery.
'His friend saved his life ... and then we the lifeguards helped keep him alive,' McNulty said.
'It was a very traumatic scene, and all individuals attending him did a tremendous job.'
McNulty said he was familiar with the man before the attack because Tamarindo is a small town where everyone knows everyone else.
He declined to identify him publicly by name but described him as a surfer from Colorado who maintains a residence in the village. Family members were traveling to be with him.
McNulty said a few months ago there was a 'minor incident' in which a smaller croc bit a person.
'We live in a country where there's large crocodiles, and people take for granted that when you go into a river that you're safe,' the lifeguard said. 'But the fact of the matter is that you need to be aware of your environment. ... We're in their world.'
